VLP 2009 in review...

Happy Holidays and Happy New Year from VLP!
Thanks for coming out to our shows, purchasing our albums, saying hello online, and telling your friends and family about The Vince Lujan Project! We truly appreciate the love and support of our loyal fans!

2009 was an exciting year for The Vince Lujan Project. The band won an unofficial South by Southwest Showcase at Gueros’ Taco Bar in Austin, Texas from Live Music Records in Houston, Texas (owned by Pete Simple). We kept up appearances all over the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex by performing at venues such as The Fox & the Hound, Andy’s Bar & Grill, Andrew’s Restaurant, Villa Grande, Cool Beans, Daddy Joe’s, Bubba Moose, and Lochrann’s Irish Pub & Eatery. VLP also began venturing past the confines of the Metroplex for spring and summer festivals in the Texas cities of Columbus, Gatesville, and San Antonio.

Band leader, Vince Lujan, was hired to perform for a one week stint with the indie Texas band, The Tejas Brothers, in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico for the Texas Music Week festival. Along with this awesome accomplishment, The Vince Lujan Project also took home the top prize for a battle of the bands competition at local eatery and bar Buckwild’s in Frisco, Texas for superior musicianship and most fan support! (Thank you VLP-ers!)

Perhaps most noteworthy of all was the release of VLP’s second studio effort “The Echo Lab Revisited” which includes the entire previous record (Echo Lab Sessions) completely re-mastered with new artwork and sleek packaging, with the addition of four brand-new studio tracks and three live acoustic tracks. Check out www.DigStation.com where the album has been exclusively released.

This past October, The Vince Lujan Project welcomed newcomer Vandell Andrew on alto sax. Quite honestly, the band just loves having a sax player back in the mix again! In November of 2009, The Vince Lujan Project acquired Jill McGuckin of McGuckin Entertainment PR (Austin, Texas) as their official publicist. We urge our fans and supporters to look forward to seeing an updated look and feel for the entire band in the very near future. Along with this addition, the VLP team continues to grow with the recent acquisition of band manager David Gonzalez who will be assisting the band in their next phase of growth.

We’re so thankful for all the blessings we have seen this past year and look forward to new challenges and future blessings ahead!
